Description
One of Bangkok's oldest and most vibrant neighborhoods, famous for its incredible street art and colorful murals tucked away in narrow alleys. Located just south of Chinatown, Talat Noi blends Thai and Chinese culture with contemporary art, hip cafes, and historic architecture.
The heart of the street art scene is along Trok San Chao Rong Kueak alley and surrounding sois. Here you'll find everything from massive multi-story murals depicting local life to small stencil works hidden in doorways. The art changes regularly as new pieces are added by both Thai and international artists.
Don't miss the iconic Antique Turtle Car — a Volkswagen Beetle covered in vintage finds — and the beautifully restored Chinese shophouses that line the narrow lanes. The neighborhood is also home to several atmospheric cafes set in converted warehouses and old printing presses.
Best explored on foot in the morning before the heat sets in. The area is compact and walkable in 1-2 hours. Nearest MRT: Hua Lamphong. Nearest boat pier: Marine Department pier (Tha Rua).
